DAVID ALLEN FORAL
We’re all here because we love collecting art connected to our favorite bands and created by our favorite artists. That provides artist and musician David Foral a unique place in this community as both a creator and collector of many different forms of art. He was kind enough to share his thoughts via email with the R•VIBE community about what he collects, what influences his choices, and if it’s OK to wear a band’s shirt to their own show.

R•VIBE Do you consider yourself an art collector?
DF I’m definitely more of an art supply collector than an art collector.
R•VIBE Do you have a record collection?
DF I used to be a DJ in the early 2000’s. I have a nice collection of golden era Hip Hop. We have a turntable set up at the house and my wife has been buying vinyl. We enjoy putting on records while cleaning the house.
R•VIBE Do you primarily collect pins or posters?
DF I don’t necessarily collect either, but after each tour our merch company sets aside posters for us. I’m building up a sizable collection.

R•VIBE What artists are you currently really into, and why?
DF I’ve really been digging what Attack Peter (@attackpeter) has been up to. I used to do woodblock printing in high school. His style and detail are great.
R•VIBE What is your white whale / unicorn / biggest ISO?
DF I don’t think I have my first red rocks show poster. That one would be nice to track down.
R•VIBE What makes a piece of art “worthy” of being showcased in your home or workspace?
DF Art has to serve two purposes in my opinion. It has to enhance the space and make you feel something. As long as a piece speaks to me and fits the vibe, it is worthy.
R•VIBE Do you collect or display any of your own artwork?
DF I have a copy or two of every poster I’ve done. There is an Adobe Nuvo piece that I did for my wife hanging in her office.
R•VIBE Is it OK to wear a band’s shirt to their show?
DF Absolutely. This is a great way to connect with fellow fans and discuss which past shows you’ve attended. You just might make a new best friend.
