DAVID ALLEN FORAL

The strength in a community lies in its members sharing their best attributes so that it can grow organically. The Reggae Rock scene is an eclectic community made up of a plethora of groups coming together in order to experience music and art in their own way. Despite this, entertainers, fans, artists, and collectors are all uniquely tied together and co-dependent. These categories are also not mutually exclusive. Entertainers are also fans, and artists are also collectors – nobody can be pigeonholed into a single category.
Creativity is a powerful thing. It’s the vehicle that allows us to share our thoughts and ideas. You cannot drag and drop your ideas into another person’s brain. Instead, we must do our best to describe our thoughts and ideas to others. In that way, life is sort of like playing a big game of telephone with something always getting lost in translation. Art and music have traditionally been a response to that conundrum.
Art and music are an attempt to share complex feelings and ideas with others through creative expression when all other means fail. Consider that part of your value as a human – your ability to have original thoughts and the ability to share them with the world. This means that you are an artist!
Ideas can be used to influence the world to make it the place that you want to be. When we have complex ideas that are difficult to share, we have a choice to make – do our best to explain it and move forth hoping that others understand, or we find other ways to express our ideas better. Real art starts at this intersection.
If art can be defined as the creative expression of original ideas, David Allen Foral represents the epitome of an artist. He is not only an accomplished musician, as his roots formed due to his background in graphic design and the visual arts. His visual art takes on all forms from prints and foils to pins, and he even created the world’s first Reggae Rock Non Fungible Token (NFT)!
David Foral is a master of expression. While most of us mire inside of our own thoughts, he has the ability to choose the way he transfers his creative ideas to us. This means that he has an abundance of tactics to share his ideas with us and can therefore paint a better picture of his ideas in our brains. What an amazing superpower. The ability to allow others to read our minds when we choose to invite them…
This is what makes Dave Foral, Dave Foral. He started as an average guy who “used to run a T-shirt business” and “is very humble(ed) to know that people are seeking out my art.” At the same time he is a trendsetting artist that functions on another level creatively. Like no other artist, he gives fans unique access to his mind.
That is the essence of what makes art and music desirable, and the essence of what makes Dave Foral, Dave Foral.
As we wrap up Dirty Heads week and descend on Central Florida for Vacation, I would like to thank Mr. Foral on behalf of the R•VIBE community for taking the time to share with us, both in this interview series and in the art and music community. It has been a true honor and a privilege. Who’s ready for the outdoor hotel pool party?
A-a-aye!
